For 20 years, pro-democracy movements have shaken the foundation of governments across the world in places like Ukraine, Egypt, Syria, Russia, Hong Kong, South Korea, and right here in the United States. But what are the factors that make some of them succeed, and what inevitably leads others to failure?

We will take a look at the Arab Spring uprisings across the Middle East, the Euromaidan Uprising in Ukraine, and the ongoing protest movement in Russia, for clues about how and why pro-democracy movements succeed, and how and why they fail, and what lessons they offer activists across the globe.
