Visiting As A Family

If you are coming for the first time with children, it is best to come before 10:15a.m so that we can help you and your children feel comfortable in our building. When you enter the church, tell the usher that you are coming with children for the first time. The usher will introduce you to the Director ofFaith Development Ministries or to a member of the Family Ministries, who will orient you to the program

Each Sunday children attend the beginning of the regular 10:30 a.m. worship with their families. Approx-imately three Sundays per month, children are released to their classes at a point marked in the Order of Service. Parents are welcome tVisiting Familyo accompany their children to their classes, and stay with them until they are comfortable, and to return to the sanctuary at any time. Children’s classes run from 10:45-11:45 a.m. (about 15 minutes longer than the adult service). This allows adults to enjoy coffee and fellowship while the children finish their classes.

Students from 6th-7th grades will ring a bell at 11:45 a.m. to signal the end of our children’s classes. We ask that parents pick up their children in person from their classrooms at this time. Our 8th grade class runs until noon.

Our high school youth group (YRU2) begins its meetings in the Youth Lounge at 10:00 a.m. and runs through noon. Ask the Director of Faith Development Ministries to direct you. This group attends worship one or two times per month and sits in its own section of the sanctuary.

Approximately once a month we will have Community Worship Services. On these days, we will have no classes for children or youth, but we will offer Nursery and “Extended Care” for children 2nd grade and younger in Room 1 downstairs. In “Extended Care,” our childcare providers will lead activities related to the service theme. Read here more about Family Worship opportunities.

Child care is available from 9:00 a.m. through the end of the service. Between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., child care for children in 6th grade and younger is available in Room 1 in the lower level. At 10:00 a.m., the Nursery opens to provide child care for children under the age of three. Our nursery is in Room 3, located on the lower level. Ask an usher to direct you.

Some parents prefer to keep their infants and toddlers with them throughout the service. The rearmost pews on either side have extra room. The service is broadcast throughout the lobby; parents can take distressed, restless or very vocal children into the lobby where they can move around.
